Mining Exchange Ballarat
More than 280 students from 13 regional schools will get into gaming at Ballarat's highly successful and nationally regarded workforce development initiative - GiG: Get into Games - on Friday 19 May 2017.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Get into Games (GiG) initiative promotes information technology (IT) and associated creative industry career paths to secondary and higher education students by highlighting the opportunities that exist within the lucrative 'gaming' industry.
With support from Federation University, IBM Australia, Highlands LLEN, Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA), GUF Games and Telstra, the event helps to encourage a pipeline of IT and creative industry skills that will support our established industry base and build our reputation as a premier high tech and knowledge based regional economy.
The full day event includes presentations by the GDAA and Federation University; interactive discussions on design, art, programming and production management; as well as a panel discussion on how to Get into Games. Students will also have the opportunity to play games, including those involving virtual reality.
